Much as I’m tempted to do a line-by-line retrospective on the Democratic convention, this weekend has to be devoted to updating potted bios of several hundred science fiction professionals (explanation here in case you’re curious), so let me offer a pair of reading recommendations instead.
First is Watch – Covering the War on Terror, which is, IMHO, the best roundup of war-related news stories and opinion pieces on the Web.
Second is the best unappreciated blogger I know of, Matthew Hoy. He works for the San Diego Union-Tribune but as a layout designer rather than a writer. Why the paper didn’t long ago give him a column is a mystery to me. He must be one terrific design artist! Particularly worthy of note among his recent posts is a critique of convention bloggers, with suggestions for doing better at the Republican infomercial.
More when I grow weary of writing sentences like, “Carl Lambclear’s latest novel is Star Raiders of the Dust (2003), the sixth volume in the Five Universes series”.
BTW, the Pro Photo Gallery bios on my Web site are the 2003 edition. Additions and corrections are welcome. Leave comments, or e-mail them to me. (But don’t recommend additional pros for inclusion. I have no control over that.)
