Maybe I’m just a hopeless shill for the Bushitler, but it does seem to me that Bill Clinton’s habitual cheating at golf is a better marker of character than Vice President Cheney’s involvement in a freak hunting accident. (I won’t bother to expatiate on Ted Kennedy and delays in telling the public about untoward incidents.) Actually, I suppose that the whole kerfuffle is another Karl Rove ploy, aimed at getting the White House press corps to ignore Iran, Hurricane Katrina and other such matters in favor of a searching inquisition into who knew what about a non-life-threatening mishap and when they knew it – with the side benefit of making at least one reporter look like a narcissistic idiot.
