First, President-to-be Obama threatens to order the President of Canada to revise NAFTA. Then he repudiates an advisor who tries to reassure Ottawa that an Obama Administration won’t destroy the Canadian economy. Then he reveals his ambition to add seven new states to the Union, which is plausible only if we annex the western Canadian provinces.
It used to be conservatives who reviled the Canucks. But that has all changed; Barack Obama’s Borealophobia is no sign of his membership in the Vast Right-Wing Conspiracy. As long ago as 2003, leftists had identified Canada as the font of neoconservative evil. Just recently, the loony left Guardian published an exposé of “Obama’s Canadian Enemies”. In the same publication’s even loonier comments section, we are informed that “It is striking how many neoconservatives are self-hating Canadian subjects of the Crown”.
Senator Obama may be impartial between both sides of the war on terror, but he knows a real enemy when he sees one! At least we can hope that he will talk to his enemies, as FDR did, before invading.
