But essential aspects of the February Revolution – contempt for all authority and hierarchy, disdain for the past and a desire to repudiate it or negate it altogether, demands to abolish the police, intolerance of anything that smacks of conservatism or tradition – are all around us and are the hallmark of what it means to be “progressive” today.
